Our Plumbing & HVAC Story
A Word From Our Owner, Dan Abbey
The company started in 1976, L Russell, Abbey, who was my dad. He started in plumbing at a high school in 1956. He started out service plumbing in Germantown.
Then was drafted in the army for two years in 1961 and 62. Then cut out of the army, enjoying the Philadelphia plumbers union and was in the union until 1976. He started out in Ambler, and he did service, plumbing, and drain cleaning and heating.
He managed the company's operations until 2000, when I took over. I’ve been running operations ever since. I added HVAC services, and we now handle all major brands of HVAC and heat pumps. We provide complete air conditioning service and installations, including high-efficiency systems and chimney-vented units.
We handle all drain cleaning, camera inspections, and sewer line scoping. We also replace and install water heaters, including tankless systems, and provide full service for them. In addition, we install and service toilets.
We also replace shower valves, kitchen faucets, bathroom sink faucets, and outdoor hose bibs. We work on washers, dryers, and dishwashers. We offer drain cleaning for small lines in sinks and other fixtures, as well as main outside drains.
We handle dig-ups for Southside water services and sewer drains. We have six service trucks on the road every day. My wife, Jacquelyn, also works as a helper, and Jennifer handles the office. Together, along with myself, we manage all the scheduling. I take care of most of the estimating and field inspections.
All of our mechanics are highly professional, wear uniforms, and drive clearly marked trucks. I personally have 35 years of experience. My dad, now retired, brought 50 years of experience to the business. Our HVAC mechanics and helpers have 30 years of experience, and each of our plumbers has around 20 years of experience.
So when we send our mechanics out, you can trust you're getting skilled, professional, and clean service ensuring the job gets done right.
